The Wilfred Hunt Travel Fund in Memory of Dr Wilfred Hunt

The Wilfred Hunt Travel Fund is the Hunt family’s philanthropic support in memory of Dr Wilfred Hunt.

Edinburgh Pathology has received a very kind donation from the family of Wilfred Hunt, an academic and diagnostic pathologist who worked for The University of Edinburgh in the mid to late twentieth century. This donation has been put into a University Donation Account to fund a scheme called “The Wilfred Hunt Travel Fund”, as suggested during discussions with the family.

The purpose of this travel fund is to provide financial support for academic pathologists to attend conferences or academic meetings to present either an oral presentation or a poster or make a similar academic contribution. Pathologists may apply for up to £300 per conference (only one application per academic per year). A condition of providing TWHTF support is that the recipient writes a short report (at least 0.5 of an A4 page) on the conference/meeting attended using the travel funds. These short reports will be shared with the Hunt family and uploaded to the Edinburgh Pathology website.
