Pathologia is an open-educational pathology resource. It covers all aspects of human pathology by integrating the cellular and molecular basis of disease with clinical medicine. The content is curated by members of the University of Edinburgh , Edinburgh Pathology and other pathologists from NHS Lothian, in addition to hosting teaching content from other medical disciplines. Pathologia has been created for medical undergraduates as a replacement for an online teaching resource developed in the late 1990s ('PathCAL'). Whilst Pathologia is designed to map to the University of Edinburgh MBChB curriculum, it is freely available to all. The initial release in February 2019 consists of the core Year 1 subjects, and additional content will be frequently added to create a complete pathology companion for the undergraduate medical curriculum. Individual topics are addressed in short, interactive CALs (Computer Assisted Learning), organised in themes within broader categories (introduction, disease processes, and organ systems).
